Dr. Georgios I. Giannopoulos received his diploma and PhD degree from the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics of the University of Patras in Greece.

From 2009 until 2016, he was full time Assistant Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Technological Educational Institute of Western Greece.

From 2016 until 2019, he taught at the Department of Materials Science at the University of Patras.

Since 2016 until now, he is employed as Engineer in major public works at the General Secretary of Infrastructure of the Hellenic Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport.

Since 2019, he is Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of the Peloponnese.

Since 2020, he is a member of the Adjunct Academic Staff of the Hellenic Open University.

​

He currently conducts research on the characterization of structures, materials, and nanosystems.
